July 4th is a Saturday this year and is celebrated on Friday July 3rd.

SERVICES AVAILABLE
- There will be emergency ambulance service, fire brigade, first aid, medical examiner and police.
- TheBus will operate on a Sunday schedule. visit thebus.org for routes and other information.
- Skyline will operate on a normal schedule from 4 am to 10:30 pm Visit honolulu.gov/skyline for rider information.
- parks, botanical gardens, municipal golf courses and the Honolulu Zoo will be open
- Garbage will be collected. Transfer stations, convenience centers, H-POWER and the Waimānalo Gulch sanitary landfill will be open. visit envhonolulu.org for more information.
CLOSED OR CANCELED SERVICES
- The Neal S. Blaisdell Center box office will remain closed.
- The Popular Open Markets will not be held.
- Satellite town halls and driver’s license centers will be closed.
- Most Hawai’i State Library branches will be closed Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th. Select branches will be open on Friday, July 3.
- Post offices will be open on Friday 3rd July but will be closed on Saturday 4th July.
TRAFFIC AND PARKING REGULATIONS
- Avoid parking:
- Saturday, July 4: No parking will be allowed on Lanikai between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. to accommodate the Kailua 4th of July Fireworks.
- Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5: There will be no parking restrictions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Street parking will be free, except for meters on Kalākaua Avenue along Queen Kapi’olani Park, metered parking lots and other streets. See the full list here.
- Traffic lanes will not be tapered due to counterflow.
