    What’s open and closed on Presidents Day in Honolulu










































    Your guide to which city services will be available or suspended in observance of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 16, 2026.

    Services available

    • There will be emergency ambulance service, medical examiner, firefighters, first aid and police.
    • TheBus will run on schedule on Saturday. visit thebus.org for information on routes and timetables.
    • Skyline will operate on a normal schedule from 4 am to 10:30 pm Visit honolulu.gov/skyline for rider information.
    • Parks, botanical gardens, municipal golf courses and the Honolulu Zoo will be open.
    • Garbage will be collected.
    • Transfer stations, convenience centers, H-POWER and the Waimānalo Gulch sanitary landfill will be open. visit envhonolulu.org for more information.

    Closed and cancelled

    • The Neal S. Blaisdell box office will remain closed.
    • The Popular Open Markets will not be held.
    • All satellite town halls and driving license centers will be closed.
    • Hawaii State Public Library branches will be closed Saturday, February 14th through Monday, February 16th. See the holiday calendar.

    Traffic and Parking

    • Street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalākaua Avenue along Queen Kapi’olani Park, the metered parking lots and the certain streets in Waikīkī.
    • Traffic lanes will not be tapered due to counterflow.
    • Parking at Lanikai will be restricted over the three-day bank holiday weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
