Your guide to which city services will be available or suspended in observance of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Services available
- There will be emergency ambulance service, medical examiner, firefighters, first aid and police.
- TheBus will run on schedule on Saturday. visit thebus.org for information on routes and timetables.
- Skyline will operate on a normal schedule from 4 am to 10:30 pm Visit honolulu.gov/skyline for rider information.
- Parks, botanical gardens, municipal golf courses and the Honolulu Zoo will be open.
- Garbage will be collected.
- Transfer stations, convenience centers, H-POWER and the Waimānalo Gulch sanitary landfill will be open. visit envhonolulu.org for more information.
Closed and cancelled
- The Neal S. Blaisdell box office will remain closed.
- The Popular Open Markets will not be held.
- All satellite town halls and driving license centers will be closed.
- Hawaii State Public Library branches will be closed Saturday, February 14th through Monday, February 16th. See the holiday calendar.
Traffic and Parking
- Street parking will be free, except for the meters on Kalākaua Avenue along Queen Kapi’olani Park, the metered parking lots and the certain streets in Waikīkī.
- Traffic lanes will not be tapered due to counterflow.
- Parking at Lanikai will be restricted over the three-day bank holiday weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
