    In honor of the closing of the Makahiki season, you are invited to this first celebration hosted by Ko Olina Resort and the Hawaiian Council. Hear live Kapena, ‘Uhe’uhene and Ekolu music, watch Hālau Hula ‘O Hokulani dance performances, play Makahiki games, participate in cultural activities including kōnane, kāpala stamping, coconut frond weaving and milk making, and retail shops and food vendors.

    Eat the Invaders Community Event & Fish Fry

    Sunday March 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m

    This weekend, you can help reduce the number of invasive reef fish in Maunalua Bay by eating them. Join non-profit organization Mālama Maunalua for tastings of ta’ape and to’au cooked by Chef Hui and local I’a, gyotaku fish printing, fish cleaning demonstrations and educational booths. There will also coincidentally be a fishing tournament that has already reached registration capacity.

This year there will also be a Keiki Corner with young entrepreneurs selling their products, as well as hands-on activities.
