For more than five decades, Kapono has created music that has become the soundtrack to so many lives in Hawaii and beyond. A multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner and Grammy-nominated artist, he is a pillar of contemporary Hawaiian music, known for his soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics, and enduring connection to his island and community.
Backed by an all-star local band, Kapono combines personal stories and timeless classics with a relaxed elegance and signature warmth. The performance includes longtime fan favorites like “Friends,” “Highway in the Sun,” “Sunflower,” “Gotta Get Away,” “Sailin,” “Home in the Islands” and “Goodtimes Together,” transporting us back in time to a backyard party, prom night, or a concert with friends at the Waikīkī Shell.
